An exciting opportunity to be among the first and therefore most critical hires for a new coffee brand launching its first outpost in Central London this Autumn, put together by a team of UK coffee scene veterans. No expenses spared and no corners will be cut - This is a rare opportunity to be part of something big. We are looking for a full-time Head Barista / Manager (as well as Baristas full-time/part-time). Head Barista Key Role

• Coffee Service: Being a constant presence on the bar, guiding your customers through the coffee menu as well as preparing the coffee beverages for them. Our first opening will be a small coffee bar with a team of 2-3 members of staff on each shift. The Head Barista will be a key person within the shift, engaged in all aspects of service and leading your team alongside you.

Additional Responsibilities

• Shop Management: Carry out operational systems, processes, and standards to ensure consistency and efficiency.

• Leadership: Manage and mentor staff, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Maintaining efficiency and structure.

• Development: Refining processes to improve workflow, speed of service, and operational performance.

• Inventory Management: Manage supplier relationships and supply chain logistics, ensuring cost-effective inventory management.

• Health & Safety and Compliance: Carry out food safety, health and safety standards, that comply with relevant regulations. Carry out a strong compliance culture, ensuring all health, safety, and food standards are met.

• Reporting and Communication: Provide regular performance reports to the directors, ensuring clear communication and strategic alignment.

Requirements

• Extensive speciality coffee industry experience.

• Experience with specialty coffee equipment including basic maintenance.

• Coffee equipment plumbing experience is desirable.

• Coffee competition knowledge experience.

• Management experience.

• Maintain a high level of personal hygiene and appearance.

• A ‘can-do’ attitude. Not afraid of rolling up your sleeves when needed.

Availability Requirements

• This full-time role requires commitment and dedication. The initial opening period will be critical, and being available during this period will be key to making the concept a success.
